Our client, a National Courier Company, is seeking a Dispatcher for their Sterling, VA location. This company provides customer service, dispatch, and operational functions on a local and national level. Compensation: $18.00-20.00/ DOE
Location: Ashburn, VA
Schedule: Monday-Friday,12:00pm- 8:30pm & 10:00pm-6:00am ( swinging shift)
Responsibilities:
- Take Inbound and Outgoing phone calls
- Assist and direct drivers in the field across multiple states
- Provide administrative support when needed
- Computer data entry
- Prepare documents as required
- Assist in billing
- Must comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work well independently.
- Great telephone etiquette & computer skills.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions
- Ability to read and write simple correspondence.
- Communicates internally with terminal and corporate office staff, and externally with shippers, contractors and customers.
- Strong computer skills including above average Microsoft Office skills
- Self-Motivator, Problem Solver and ability to Multi-Task
- Detailed and reliable
