They communicate in a friendly, respectful, and understandable manner. Surveillance Officers work to ensure the safety of our guests, employees, and vendors, while ensuring assets of the property and its occupants are secure.Daily Job DutiesUse a CCTV system to monitor and review activity throughout the casino propertyWork with employees within the department as well as other departments to investigate incidentsComplete typed reports/logs and preserve video as evidenceMaintain surveillance on all casino operations for errors, theft, fraud and regulatory violationsRespond to casino activity and utilize necessary equipment to identify, record and document illegal and unusual activities occurring on the propertyWork with law enforcement agencies to review and investigate crimes, and may represent the casino in litigation as requiredIdentify and/or review incidents such as departmental violations, risk management concerns, monetary variances and player disputesMonitor various systems for malfunctions and report/document them as neededQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentMust be 21 years of age or olderHigh degree of professional and personal integrity/ethicsMust have basic computer and arithmetic skillsMust be able to obtain/maintain a gaming license through the MLGCAAble to work day, evening or overnight shifts, including holidays and weekendsAble to speak, read and understand EnglishAble to complete an on-the-job 90-day training program, with various tests and assessmentsThe Preferred CandidateHas had Surveillance employment or equivalent investigation/gaming/casino experienceHas excellent interpersonal and verbal/written skillsHas knowledge of casino table games, cheat tactics, and cash handling scamsIs able to understand and adapt to changing departmental/property/regulatory policies & regulationsIs able to work independently and proactively when work is not assignedIs naturally curious and enjoys investigating freelyWork EnvironmentAble to be alert in a high-risk environment; follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data; carefully monitor gauges, instruments, or processes; concentrate on routine work details and organize and maintain a system of recordsAble to respond calmly in crisis and mentally stressful situations, and can make rational decisionsAble to lift and carry up to 20 poundsAble to respond to audible and visual cues and alarmsAble to sit for extended periods of timeAble to control a joystick and inputs on keypadsAble to speak clearly and comfortably on a phone and/or handheld radioMust have good personal hygiene and a professional appearanceCompensation & Benefits$21.00 per hour40 hour scheduled work week, with consecutive days off, generally staticOvertime opportunities available, when necessary, typically first come first serveBi-weekly pay datesPTO, 401(k), Medical, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability Insurance, Holiday PayTogether We WinWe believe in delivering family-style service—an approach that fosters warmth, connection, and a genuine sense of belonging.
