Assistant Fire Chief
Serves as the Assistant Fire Chief for Training Programs with primary responsibility for developing Fire, Rescue, Hazardous Materials, Emergency Medical Services, Wild Land Firefighting.
Responsible for Physical Fitness and Wellness, Safety, CPR Certification,and Employee Development Training programs.
Develop and manage plans, programs and train division personnel and installation population in appropriate techniques and methods.
Analyze information from incidents, drills and training exercises to refine, expand and stress areas of emphasis.
Instruct department personnel in all phases of fire protection, hazardous materials response, technical rescue, fire prevention, emergency medical, and disaster preparedness techniques.
Assure all personnel are certified to require DOD Fire and Emergency Services and required local EMS levels of training and certification and ensure certification is maintained.
Serve as division safety officer responsible for compliance with all known safety guidance.
Utilize hazard and risk assessment techniques to form an incident analysis by surveying the area, materials, containers, weather, research sources, and monitoring equipment.
Provide employees with corrective measures for improving work performance.
Identify developmental and training needs of employees and provide for and/or arrange for needed development and training.
