ResponsibilitiesMonitoring and protecting hospital patients, employees, guests and property, preserving the peace, preventing crime, and detecting and detaining violators of the law.Respond to hospital emergency codes and perform frequent patrol of lots and clinics.Conduct routine rounding on aggressive or flagged patients or those at risk for security intervention.Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, including equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.Liaise with responding law enforcement agencies to orient them as necessary.ScheduleFull‑time, 60–80 hours every 2 weeks.Night shift | 9:00 p‑7:30 a.Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (flex shifts).Pay and BenefitsMinimum hourly rate of $25.51 per hour; exact rate determined by years of related experience.Pay range: $24.21–$36.35 per hour.Night Shift Differential of $3.00 per hour and Weekend Shift Differential of $1.05 per hour.$2,000 hiring bonus.Full‑time benefits: medical, dental, PTO, retirement, employee discounts and more.QualificationsExperience in security, policing, or training in law enforcement or private security preferred.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to handle individuals or groups in a health‑care setting.Minimum training and certification up to the level of EMR preferred.A valid driver's license and a driving record in good standing.Certification in use of the ASP expandable baton, handcuffing, VISTELAR, and CEW (conducted energy weapon/Taser) required; experience with Taser within 6 months of hire required.Full set of fingerprints in accordance with Minnesota Statute 326.336 required.Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required prior to completion of unit orientation.CentraCare has made a commitment to diversity in its workforce.
