    Position SummaryThe Alaska Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting Correctional Officer 1's for the Lemon Creek Correctional Complex in Juneau, Alaska.ResponsibilitiesOversee and supervise inmates, maintain custody, security, and reformation.Work a week‑on, week‑off schedule with alternating day and night shifts, totaling six months of service each year.Complete a structured field training program and a 7‑week Correctional Officer Academy within the first 12‑14 months of employment.Obtain an Alaska Police Standards Council (APSC) Correctional Officer Certificate and be eligible for promotion to Correctional Officer 2 level.Adhere to daily procedures and policies to promote successful community reentry and reduce recidivism.Working EnvironmentLemon Creek Correctional Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and houses up to 226 inmates, serving both male and female populations.
