    Sphinx Counterintelligence (CI) Specialists

Sphinx Counterintelligence (CI) Specialists support the Department of Defense (DoD) component through the use of investigations, assessments, collections, and analysis focused on mitigating the foreign adversary threat to DoD equities. CI Specialists may support numerous entities within the DoD Component, involving a variety of mission areas or with a focus on mitigating specific advanced adversary threats.

The roles and responsibilities of the CI Specialist will vary depending upon the organization or agency they are supporting. CI Specialists conduct authorized counterintelligence activities to protect and defend the organizations personnel, facilities, information, and mission. Authorized CI activities will depend upon the authorities granted to the organization but routinely include the conduct of CI Incident Assessments (CIIAs) and Investigations to detect, neutralize, and exploit Foreign Intelligence Entity (FIE) or International Terrorist Organizations (ITO) targeting the organizations equities. Authorized CI activities may also include the conduct/support of CI collections activities intended to obtain information about FIE and ITO capabilities and operations.

Candidates seeking a CI Specialist position with Sphinx must be mature, motivated, and dedicated to the counterintelligence mission. They must also be knowledgeable of and experienced with various CI authorities and how they are executed in accordance with other statutes and policies such as Intelligence Oversight. CI Specialists must be adaptable and self-motivated. They are capable of shifting focus and prioritizing actions in support of the broader mission objectives with little to no oversight.

Ideal CI Specialist candidates will meet the following requirements:

    • Clearance: Must currently possess an active TS/SCI security clearance and be able to obtain a CI polygraph after hire
    • Years of Experience: Must have at least 3-5 years of experience operating as a Counterintelligence Special Agent or Counterintelligence Officer within the US Government

    • Completion of advanced CI training (i.e, Joint Counterintelligence Training Activity (JCITA))
