    Job Summary

    As an IT Intern for the City of Olathe, you will gain hands-on experience in a real-world professional environment. Our IT Service Desk Interns have exposure to various IT functions while learning from experienced professionals. If you are passionate about technology, end-user support, and providing world class customer service, this is a tremendous opportunity to further develop your technical skills.

    Pay Range: $15.50 - $16.50 an hour based on experience

    The IT Intern provides first level IT support to City of Olathe Employees. They are responsible for providing technical assistance and guidance on a variety of software and hardware issues, ensuring end users have the tools to be successful.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provides IT support related to technical issues involving Microsoft’s core business applications and operating systems; provides technical support for desktop and hardware issues.
    • Responds timely to incoming inquiries and system alerts and notifications through service tickets.
    • Communicates effectively with customers via phone, email, deskside, and chat keeping them informed of ticket progress and notifying them of impending changes and resolutions.
    • Documents user issues and troubleshooting steps within service desk solutions.


    Qualifications

    Experience: One year of technical support experience is required unless enrolled in a relevant degree program.

    Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

    Licenses & Certifications: None.
