Fresno County General Services Department invites applications for the position of
Maintenance Janitor.The incumbent is responsible for janitorial duties, laundry, routine minor maintenance and repairs on County buildings, equipment, appliances, facilities, and grounds, including semi-skilled painting, carpentry, electrical work, and minor plumbing repairs, and performing related work as required.
The current vacancies exist within the
General Services Department. However, t he eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill vacancies in other County departments as they occur.

License : Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent, may be required.
Note : Incumbents may be required to obtain and maintain Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Justice (DOJ) clearance as a condition of employment.

This classification may require employees to work in Fresno County Detention Facilities. Fresno County Detention Facilities are "no hostage" facilities. This means that in the event you are taken hostage, the County will not bargain for your safe release.
Some departments may require incumbents to work evenings and weekends (including Sundays) and travel between work sites.

REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONSPositions in this classification are in Medical Group III - Heavy Physical Activity (Personnel Rule 8). This group includes positions which require heavy physical effort using arms, legs, back, and trunk in frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing (or offering resistance equivalent to) over 25 pounds. Generally, considerable bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, as well as standing and walking are involved. Physical stamina is usually required and explosive strength using bursts of energy may be required, depending upon specific position assignments.
