Nevada County Sheriff's Office is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Administrative Analyst to perform complex and analytical work in support of departmental operations. This is the journey-level classification within the Administrative Analyst series responsible for providing technical expertise in fiscal management, budgeting, contract administration, policy analysis, and organizational improvement. Furthermore, individuals are expected to be knowledgeable in and able to perform the full range of analytical duties in the office as required.

Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. They communicate effectively and can present complex information clearly to leadership, elected officials, and the public.
Vital skills include:
- Prepare and present reports, resolutions, and ordinances to the Board of Supervisors
- Develop Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contracts, and agreements
- Conduct research and serve as an internal investigator on assigned projects
- Perform data analysis to support audits and operational reviews
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies or errors
- Manage financial projects and funding sources
- Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze and present data
- Communicate effectively and manage assignments with minimal supervision
Knowledge of:- Government administration and public policy development
- Budgeting, fiscal analysis, and expenditure control
- Laws and regulations impacting county government operations
- Contract development and administration
- Organizational and management analysis
Licenses & Requirements- Successful completion of a background investigation and compliance with Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) requirements
- Work is performed in both office and field environments. Duties may include extended periods of sitting, computer use, and occasional travel. The role may involve visiting project sites, attending meetings across multiple locations, and handling sensitive or confidential information.

Education and Experience RequiredLevel I: Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, economics or a related field from an accredited college or university
and
One year of experience in administrative, budget or personnel analysis, preferably in a public agency.
- Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis to a maximum of two years.
Level II: (in addition to the above)Two years of experience at a level equivalent to Nevada County's classification of Administrative Analyst I.
