Description
Senior Security Officers are independent Clinic Officers, or more senior members of Hospital Security teams. As such, they assist Supervisors and Managers in the preparation of Security Department reports and documentation, assist with the training of new Officers, and otherwise perform tasks that prepare them for a higher leadership role within the MCNDH Security Department. The Muscogee Creek Nation Department of Health (MCNDH) security officers are employed to protect lives and physical property. Their main duty is to enforce the rules, regulations and procedures of the MCNDH. Security officers are to control access and prevent trespassing, loss or damage to the MCNDH property. Represent the MCNDH by providing guidance to authorized visitors and other MCNDH properties. Manage traffic flow and deter criminal activity on the MCNDH property.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an office environment when documenting and filing reports. Primary duties are performed inside and outside of the clinical facilities and on the clinic and hospital grounds. Risk of potential exposure to hostile individuals and situations, infectious diseases, smoke, fire, outside weather, etc.
Physical Demands
Physical demands of the position required: continuous standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working within small or cramped quarters. Duties may include carrying, lifting, pulling or pushing parts and equipment weighing up to and at times beyond 50 pounds. Physical restraint of individuals may be required in the performance of duties.
Essential Functions
Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following:
- Inspect all areas of the clinical facility for safety and fire hazards. Document findings and notify administrator on a regular basis.
- Respond to all emergency situations to de-escalate and resolve any incident that could potentially harm patients, staff and visitors of the facility. Call outside assistance as needed.
- Respond and participate in emergency situations and/or internal, external disasters, bomb threats, active shooter threats, potential infant security issues/abductions, severe weather conditions, etc.
- Respond to all fire alarms and contain fires when possible. Assist in moving patients or controlling crowds as required.
- Monitor parking practices of employees and visitors to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Escort visitors, patients and employees to vehicles as requested.
- Assist individuals having vehicular problems and assist as appropriate.
- Monitor and promote compliance with policies and procedures such as solicitation, smoking and visiting hours.
- Conduct investigation of all items reported lost or stolen to aid employees and patients in recovering articles.
- Perform daily rounding's and complete the daily logs/reporting.
- Conduct training sessions regarding safety for staff members as requested.
- Complete Incident Reports as needed.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
