About the Opportunity THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate for the position of Social Worker must possess knowledge of the laws and principles related to child welfare. Click here for details. THE POSITIONS SOCIAL WORKER IV TRAINEE This is a training level in the Social Worker series. Incumbents perform professional casework in less complicated areas of social services. The casework requires the application of a moderate level of social services, expertise and techniques. The Position Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting. The Division of Public and Behavioral Health , Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health (SNAMHS) is recruiting for a Clinical Social Worker 1 at Stein Forensic Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. This recruitment is used to underfill a Clinical Social Worker 2. Incumbents receive training and gain experience while working toward licensure by the Board of Examiners for Social Work. Clinical Social Workers perform client evaluations and assessments through interviews with families and friends and review of medical records including social, developmental, and medical history. Incumbents will perform crisis interventions; follow established protocols and policy in order to protect clients, staff, family, and others potentially at risk due to client behavior; recommend and complete documentation for voluntary and involuntary hospitalization. Duties include overseeing the delivery of professional services, responsibility for staff coverage, space and equipment needs, budget development and monitoring, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, program guidelines, and agency policy. Special Notes Must be in or eligible for an internship for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers, or must hold a license in the State of Nevada as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Special Requirements Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
