Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum qualifications are used as a guide for establishing the education, training, experience, special skills and/or license which are required and equivalent to the following. Education/Experience : Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a closely related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering, one (1) of which was in a lead supervisory capacity. Knowledge of: Civil Engineering principles and practices; surveying practices and laws; Civil engineering calculations; construction methods and materials; Federal, State and County laws governing contract specifications; advanced math including trigonometry and calculus; supervision and management methods; Federal, State and County ordinances pertaining to highway design, construction and maintenance, subdivision and flood control and safety; local, County, State and Federal design standards; cost analysis and budget preparation; record and filing systems.
