Job Description and Duties Health & Safety Compliance - Wildland Fire Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Lead Analyst for fire-related emergency response programs in the Health & Safety Unit; Assists in developing and implementing a statewide PPE tracking system and provides technical instruction and compliance oversight for wildland fire safety regulations; Develops and maintains related statewide guidelines and instructional materials. Workplace Violence Prevention Independently facilitates the investigation process for workplace violence complaints; conducts interviews, prepares detailed written reports which include documentation of findings, and analysis of findings. Provide workplace violence prevention training to staff and Corpsmembers. Policy, Procedure Development, and Data Analysis research and analyze injury statistics and make recommendations to management on behalf of the Health & Safety Officer to identify and correct more complex practices or conditions; research practices to develop safer working conditions and improve overall program environment (see duty statement for details). California Children's Services (CCS) California Children’s Services (CCS) is a statewide program that provides case management and care coordination for clients' birth to 21 who have chronic, disabling and/or life threatening conditions. There are medical, financial and residential eligibility requirements. Under the direction of the CCS Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse IV (RN IV), the Registered Nurse II (RN II) performs medical utilization review and comprehensive case management for a case load of children who have CCS medically eligible conditions. The RN II works in multi-disciplinary teams to determine medical eligibility and provides medical care coordination from the point of intake and initiation of the treatment care plan as part of the CCS interdisciplinary case management team. Nurses also ensure that clients are receiving necessary services with the most appropriate provider. Case management services begin in pregnancy and continue until the child reaches two years old. During that time, parents are provided with health education, support, and child development information so that families can create better lives for their child and themselves. This position will be situated within Public Health and includes nursing care management with prenatal and postpartum clients and their children up to the age of two. Nurses in this program receive intensive training to administer this evidence based home visiting program whose goal is to improve birth outcomes, increase child development and increase families' self-sufficiency. Nurse-Family Partnership nurses establish relationships with young, at-risk mothers during home visits and provide guidance for the emotional, social, and physical challenges first-time moms face as they prepare to become parents. Foster Care Assessment Center The Assessment Center (the AC) is a non-residential, short-term shelter child-friendly environment that operates 24 hours per day. The AC is staffed and managed by West Coast Children's Clinic, Inc., a community-based organization under contract to the Alameda County Social Services Agency. Position Description Open Date: March 22, 2021 Final Filing Date: Continuous Exam # 21/60B01/03KK SUMMARY OF POSITION The Monterey County Health Department , Behavioral Health Bureau is seeking enthusiastic Associate Clinical Social Workers (ACSW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) candidates to work as part of care teams serving children, youth and adults as a Psychiatric Social Worker I. As a member of a psychiatric team, this position will assist and participate in interviewing clients and families, compile social case histories, participate in diagnostic and evaluative staff conferences, prepare reports, interpret and explain factors pertaining to mental illness, provide case management services and work collaboratively with a variety of community, county and state agencies. The Behavioral Health Bureau is a progressive agency that serves children, youth, adults and their families with System of Care values of being community based, culturally relevant, client and family centered and using evidence based practices to support clients in the wellness and recovery of their mental illness. Children's System of Care provides an array of clinical services from age's birth to 25 years of age and their families. Clinical teams include Early Childhood Services, Transition Age Youth, Post Hospitalization Support, as well clinical teams that partner with Child Welfare, Education and Juvenile Probation. Adult System of Care provides a wide range of comprehensive integrated care to adults with serious mental illness, co-occurring substance use, primary care and other complex issues. Embracing the values and goals of wellness and recovery, the multi-disciplinary teams work together to provide the following types of services; i.e. psycho-social rehabilitation, strength-based case management, crisis intervention, supported employment, supported housing, substance use recovery, family support and community integration. Clinical teams include outpatient care coordination in Marina and Salinas, Forensic Services, Collaborative Courts, Mobile Crisis and the Acute Psychiatry Unit. Access to Treatment provides an array of clinical services for all ages and their families. Clinical services include assessment, intervention, individual and group services. Linkage and referral to community resources and Children and Adult systems of care. Crisis Team: The ED Crisis Team is responsible for psychiatric evaluations of clients in the Emergency Department and assisting to determine the appropriate level of care for those patients; which may include evaluation for involuntary holds (5150), outpatient treatment, and/or placement in another facility. This classification is part of a flexible series. Incumbents appointed at the lower level of the career series may be promoted up to the higher level of the career series subject to their meeting the employment standards for the higher class and a recommendation for their promotion by the appointing authority in accordance with the Flexible Staffing Program and Guidelines. In conjunction with the consumer, develop realistic, attainable and measurable service plans and facilitate their attainment. Evaluate the degree of community functioning or emotional distress of consumers. Communicate effectively orally and in writing and able to complete work using electronic format. Ensure time sensitive documentation submitted within established guidelines. Provide consultation and technical assistance to agencies, schools and other organizations. Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
