This position is responsible for performing basic equipment and repair work under the supervision of the Facility Supervisor with the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR). The Maintenance Repair Worker 3 performs semi-skilled work in the building and mechanical trades in order to repair, construct or make modifications to DETR facilities. Areas of work may include general building maintenance such as carpentry to include installing door frames and hardware, installing shelves, repairing furniture and repairing flooring; plumbing repair to include opening clogged drains, installing and replacing electronic valves and other components on sinks, toilets, etc, and installing and replacing pipes; paint and drywall repair; electrical work that includes trouble shooting electrical components associated with high and low voltage power systems; and any other area of need. The incumbent is required to travel to DETR facilities in Carson City, Reno, and outlying areas and must possess a valid driver's license.
