Under direction, the Industrial Hygienist provides consultation and direction to County departments on industrial hygiene and occupational health problems, integrate occupational health programs and concepts into standard safety programs, and perform difficult industrial hygiene and occupational health work in connection with health hazards in places of employment and in the community, and make recommendations for the prevention, elimination and control of work-induced illness.
