Position Information Under general direction from the Wastewater Treatment Manager, performs electrical and instrumentation work with a minimum of technical guidance. Position Summary Full-time position available on or after August 1, 2024 in Building Maintenance. Under the general direction of the Facilities Maintenance Manager and the day-to-day lead direction of the Facilities Project Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is a skilled generalist who will independently perform a variety of skilled construction, renovation and general maintenance work on facilities and systems. Job Duties Duties include but are not limited to: Perform a wide range of facilities renovation, maintenance and repair work; including wall framing, installation of insulation, drywall hanging, taping and finishing, suspended ceiling installation and repair. We offer great benefits!Missouri State Employee Retirement System / Deferred compensation plan / Health insurance (medical, vision, dental for employees and family) / Paid life insurance / Long-term disability insurance / Cafeteria plan / Paid holidays / 10 hours annual leave per month / 10 hours sick leave per month / Uniforms provided when required / Pre-service and in-service training / Access to credit union / Direct deposit of paycheck (required) / Employee health, wellness and safety initiatives / MOST 529 College Savings Program Performs routine preventive maintenance and monitoring activities on equipment such as air handlers/ refrigeration and air conditioning units/high and low pressure steam systems/heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems; records, meter and gauge readings; cleans coils and oils motors; and replaces belts, filters, switches, gauges, and motors Assists skilled carpenters/plumbers/electricians/electronics technicians/other higher-level maintenance staff in performing maintenance, repair and construction activities Performs routine maintenance: painting building surfaces and equipment/patch plastering walls/carpentry work on such items as furniture, doors, windows, shelves, and floors; plumbing work such as unstopping toilets and drains; replacing faucets/valves/washers; repairing water line leaks; replacing light bulbs/outlets/switches; limited repairs of electrical motors/generators/communication equipment Performs minor repairs and adjustments to a variety of machines and equipment such as sewing machines/window air conditioners/general office equipment/metal furniture and structures/electronic medical equipment/wheelchairs/automotive equipment/kitchen appliances; and assembles modular furniture Receives supervision from a Maintenance Supervisor or other designated supervisor; however, duties are generally of limited difficulty and performed according to established procedures and specific instructions that are provided on new or complex work and performs other related work as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older, with one or more years of experience in maintenance, grounds keeping/landscaping, custodial, or other related field. All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed. Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations. If selected for interview, eligibility may be discussed at that time with the hiring manager. The Department of Corrections is the only State agency that currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of service up to 20 years.
