OVERVIEW KITSAP COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (DCD) Kitsap County DCD seeks a PLANNING SUPERVISOR to join our team of professionals. Under the direction of the assigned Planning Division Manager, the Planning Supervisor will supervise current planning staff while ensuring quality control of land use and environmental decisions and recommendations and provide timely permit review services and guidance for development proposals on lands in unincorporated Kitsap County. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Assistant Civil Engineer This is the journey level class in the professional civil engineering series not requiring registration. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the lower class of Junior Engineer. Incumbents of this class perform the moderately difficult professional engineering work in civil engineering. Assistant Civil Engineers are normally considered to be of a continuing training status and as assigned responsibilities and breadth of knowledge increase with experience, and registration is received, may reasonably expect their positions to be reassigned to the next higher class of Associate Civil Engineer. Associate Civil Engineer This is the full journey level class in the civil engineering series requiring registration. Responsibilities of an Associate Civil Engineer may include the direct or indirect supervision of lower level professional engineers and technical personnel. QUALIFICATIONS Assistant Civil Engineer Knowledge of: Principles and practices of civil engineering as applied to public works, utilities, traffic, or building construction projects. Modern developments, current literature and sources of information regarding civil engineering and building codes and ordinances. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Position Summary The Building Service Engineer is distinguished by the independent and ongoing performance of maintenance and repair work on a wide range of heating, ventilating, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, air conditioning, and water systems.
