Job Location: This position will be domiciled at Developmental Disabilities (DD) Central MO Regional Office at 900 W. Nifong Blvd. Suite 200, Columbia, MO 65203
Role Description The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for implementing all human resource policies and procedures and adherence to Federal and State Laws. Responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training and development, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Create job postings, request to fill, schedule interviews, screen applicant information to verify eligibility, check references, create request to hire, and offer positions.
• Facilitate employee resignation and retirement process as employees are exiting the Regional Office. Complete letters, payroll transactions, and notifications.
• Assist and facilitate the onboarding processes for the HRIS systems including HireTru and SAMII transactions and notifications.
• Attend in-person and virtual job fairs.
• Assist applicants with questions regarding job vacancies.
• Assist in developing and implementing personnel procedures and policies and provide guidance to leadership and employees.
• Assist employees with questions regarding personnel, benefits etc.
• Support Leadership with adherence to the Federal and State laws, CSRs, and Department Operating Regulations and Guidelines.
• Track FMLA hours used as requested.
• Maintain DMH RO HR mailbox. Review emails and complete actions or forward to the appropriate HR Generalist, Specialist, or HR Manager.
• Lead and assist special projects as needed.
• Assist with maintaining personnel files and scanning files for electronic filing.
• Backup the Human Resource Assistant as needed.
• Maintain confidential employee files, background screenings, and I-9s.
• Attend regular meetings as defined and requested by the supervisor or the HR Manager.
Minimum Qualifications: - 5 years of Human Resources experience or a bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Human Resources.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities - Strong knowledge of best practices, federal and state laws, rules and regulations, and policies and procedures as applied to human resource areas and programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems or other related computer software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and manager multiple projects.
