This position will be located at Meramec State Park Visitor Center, 115 Meramec Park Drive, Sullivan, MO.
Duration of Assignment: May 15th- September 30th- Sell merchandise. This may involve operation of a cash register and/or credit card machine.
- Register campers and assign camping sites (e.g., sell permits at park offices and entrances authorizing use of camping, picnic areas, or other state park facilities)
- Assist in supporting other facility operations (e.g., perform occasional typing and clerical duties in office by operating copier, fax machine, typewriter, and personal computer.)
- Perform housekeeping and light maintenance functions to keep visitor contact area presentable.
To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:- Cash handling experience : Ability to handle cash transactions correctly without the use of a calculator.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods : Position will require long amounts of time at the front desk.
- Time Management : Ability to self-manage and ensure all tasks are done daily with or without supervision.
Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
Experience to be Gained:- Customer Service : Will gain experience in handling interactions with high volumes of people.
- Potential Cross training : Depending on availability, this position may have the opportunity to participate in our educational presentations.
