Why you’ll love this position:The Facility Specialist (FS) is a professional-level position within the Division of Cannabis Regulation’s Section for Compliance and Enforcement. The cannabis industry will be in the building and implementation phase of growth for many years to come. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment and will assist the Division in developing and improving the regulatory program to ensure that Missourians have safe access to cannabis. The FS is responsible for assisting with the routine sampling process by contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of policies, procedures, and partnerships that strengthen the integrity, accuracy and transparency of activities related to the testing and research of cannabis products to ensure a safe product is available to patients and consumers.
The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
- Responsible for planning cannabis sample collection. Travel throughout the state to collect cannabis samples at licensed Missouri Cannabis manufacturing, cultivation, and dispensary facilities in accordance with established policy and procedures.
- Assist the bureau in maintaining records related to sampling activities, licensee information and logs.
- Safely and securely transport samples to the state reference lab, testing licensee or any other lab authorized to conduct required testing.
- Assist the bureau in developing work plans and collaborating with the state reference lab.
- Effectively and professionally communicate with licensees and laboratory staff.
- Assist bureau with licensee compliance related to sampling methods, proficiency testing, etc.
- Assist with cannabis product data collection.
- Complete related or similar duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. (Substitutions may be allowed).
- 0-1 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with many competing priorities.
- Ability to organize and manage time efficiently
- Ability to clearly, effectively, and professionally communicate information, verbally and in writing
- Ability to adapt to constant program development, change and improvement
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills and find solutions to new situations on a regular basis.
- Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite proficiently and quickly learn specialized systems.
- Attention to detail.
- Valid drivers license.
