Full-time position available with the Municipal Court Department, Finance Division located at 511 E 11th Street
Salary Range: $5,5794 - $8,833/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
This is a highly responsible position that reports to the Finance Manager. The Court Fiscal Officer will be responsible for managing and assisting in the planning, design, and direction of the financial operations of the Court. An employee in this class works with near independence and is responsible for exercising considerable initiative and judgment in establishing procedures, processes, and controls.
- Oversees the operations side of the Court, including financial, performance, and budget management.
- Develops policies and procedures within the Court.
- Assists in the formation of long-range goals of the Court.
- Communicates and collaborates proactively with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and impacts on the organization.
- Confers with and advises the director and division heads on administrative and business problems relating to Court operations.
- Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates municipal court operations, activities, and programs.
- Performs extensive, responsible research, analysis, and report writing.
- Establishes and maintains satisfactory relationships with other municipal officials, employees, contractors, consulting firms, and the general public.
- Exercises broad discretion while performing daily tasks.
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of administrative and court best practices and operations.
- Collects, analyzes, and interprets information.
- Possesses strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Master's in public or business administration, urban or regional planning, economics, organizational/development psychology, project management, geography and 1 year (OR an accredited Bachelor's and 3 years) of professional experience in corporate/municipal finance, research, accounting planning, project/program management, or geographical information systems analytics.
Preference given to those with a Master's in Business or Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or a Juris Doctorate, and those with prior court experience. Other Information

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
