Regulatory Auditor Division of Professional Registration State Board of Accountancy Posting Closes 01/09/2026 Salary $51,122 (Salary reflected does not include time of service pay, if applicable.)
Job Location: Division of Professional Registration, State Board of Accountancy, 3605 Missouri Boulevard, Jefferson City, Missouri 65109. There will be occasional day and infrequent overnight travel.

This position will conduct complaint investigations and prepare investigative reports; evaluate compliance with state regulation and profession standards for regulated individuals and entities; routine examinations for education compliance; coordinate and monitor compliance program and provide case management for individual/entity compliance matters. Will participate and provide testimony in official proceedings. Must have ability to maintain accurate and concise records. Candidates must have the ability to explain and apply statutes and regulations; communicate effectively, make routine decisions; organize workflow, possess a high-level of attention to detail and thoroughness in all deliverables, establish priorities and deadlines, and maintain effective working relationships. Candidates will need to present a professional demeanor and appearance as well as offer superior customer service to colleagues, licensees and the public.
- Review and analyze public and board complaints and referrals from agencies and review for compliance with state and federal law as well as national standards.
- Conduct complaint investigations and prepare investigative reports.
- Conduct routine examinations for education compliance.
- Collect, analyze and evaluate evidence for use in legal actions and preparing detailed reports of findings.
- Coordinate and monitor compliance program and provide case management for individual/entity compliance matters
- Provide oversight and management of compliance activities and provide necessary reporting within the organization.
- Testify in court and hearings concerning findings of compliance examinations and complaint investigations.
- Coordinate communication with legal counsel and management regarding complaint and compliance matters.
- Communicate with other state and federal regulatory entities.
What we are looking for: Minimum Qualifications - Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with specialization in finance, accounting, auditing, risk management, business management or closely related areas, including a preferred minimum of six -semester hours in accounting.
- Up to one year of professional experience in accounting, finance, auditing or insurance.
- (Experience in these areas may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education.)
- Knowledge of computer applications such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
