GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
The Infrastructure Archival Team preserves and provides access to design records dating from the mid-20th century to present. This position involves inventorying, digitizing, and researching these records to support other TPWD staff in building and managing our sites.
Under the direction of a Records Analyst within the Infrastructure Division, this position performs routine (entry to mid-level) to complex (journey-level) archival working including collecting, organizing, analyzing, and preserving records; identifying record groups according to the TPWD records retention schedule; preparing inventories, indexes, guides, and aids to facilitate access to information; digitizing architectural plans, photographs, and other records; applying to digitized and born-digital records, enhancing metadata in the internal Collections Management System; and providing reference request assistance. Ensures compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations, and agency policies and procedures. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division, and Branch rules, regulations, and procedures.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Experience :
Records Analyst I: One year records management or archival processing experience in an office, library, museum, or archive.
Records Analyst II: Four years' records management or archival processing experience in an office, library, museum, or archive.
Licensure :
None required.
ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS :
Education :
One additional year of the required experience may substitute for 30 semester hours of the required education, with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Library and Information Studies or related field.
Coursework and/or certification related to record keeping practices or preservation from Society of American Archivists, ARMA International, or related organization.
Experience :
Experience working with architectural and engineering drawings and files.
Experience processing paper or manuscript collections for research and public access.
Experience researching, analyzing, and evaluating information for external or internal staff.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

WORKING CONDITIONS :

Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules, and safety procedures.
May be required to operate a State vehicle.
