NATURE OF WORK: • Assist the Center Manager in the delivery of excellent customer services for a Recreation facility to ensure objectives are met.
• Support the planning, implementation, and supervision of academic, enrichment, and athletic programming under the direction of the FPR and/or Recreation Center Manager as needed.
• Lead and/or supervise a variety of educational and athletic activities while ensuring the safety and well-being of participants, staff, and visitors.
• Assist with daily center operations, including opening and closing procedures and completion of administrative paperwork.
• Perform cash handling duties, including processing payments, maintaining accurate records, and following established financial procedures.
• Process activity enrollments and registrations, including verifying eligibility, collecting fees, and maintaining accurate participant records. Process and manage weight room memberships, including registrations, renewals, compliance with facility policies, and patron orientation as required.
• Provide rental support by ensuring rooms and facilities are properly prepared prior to events, including setup and readiness. Answer renter questions and provide clear direction regarding facility use, policies, and procedures. Support event rentals by assisting with scheduling, setup, breakdown, and on-site coordination to ensure successful facility use.
• Answer incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner and direct inquiries appropriately. Provide courteous and professional assistance to patrons at the Front Desk, including answering inquiries, processing program registrations, memberships, and activity enrollments, and directing visitors.
• Maintain continuous coverage of the Front Desk, providing customer service, monitoring facility access, and assisting patrons as needed.
• Prepare and maintain accurate staff timesheets in accordance with established payroll procedures and deadlines.
• Complete administrative work and special assignments as directed by the Center Manager.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail when maintaining records, schedules, and reports.
• Exercise sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and initiative when addressing operational or patron-related issues.
• Navigate and utilize specialized recreation and registration websites and systems to support program operations.
• Monitor program activities to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Support staff, youth, families, and the public by addressing program needs and concerns in a professional manner.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-organized environment within the recreation center and program facilities..
Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent, plus some knowledge or experience in an organized educational, recreation or leisure services field working in various activities such as educational programs, youth sports, aquatics, cultural and therapeutic arts, health and fitness, community centers, etc.
required; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience. Applicant must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. First Aid/CPR certification preferred. A DCF background check is
required. Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred. Be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Utilize ActiveNet or similar registration and program management systems (desired). Perform duties outdoors as required, with exposure to extreme heat, insects, and varying weather conditions. Polygraph
required.
VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE OR STATE ID FROM ANY STATE MUST BY PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER'S LICENSE OR ID MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
