As a vital member of the Laboratory Support Services team, you will ensure the laboratory's essential operations run smoothly, directly serving the people of Missouri. Your daily responsibilities-from accessioning samples and building test kits to managing critical patient data and providing essential customer service internally and externally-directly contribute to public health and safety. This role offers a fulfilling opportunity to find purpose by upholding the operational excellence of the State Public Health Laboratory.
The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
- Refurbish kit components and build test kits.
- Take customer orders, pack and ship items requested by customers.
- Receive, sort, and deliver incoming mail and packages.
- Obtain Dangerous Goods Shipping Certification and ship dangerous goods.
- Keep workspaces clean and compliant with lab safety standards.
- Answer phones, assist callers with orders and questions, transfer, or take messages.
- Process lab waste/laundry/glassware; operate autoclave and other sterilization equipment.
- Accession samples.
- Scanning and data entry.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - High School diploma or equivalent.
- Readiness to learn.
- Willingness to follow directions.
- Desire to provide good customer service.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift heavy packages/objects.
