This position will be located at Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality, and will be located at
1730 East Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101. - Conduct the review of technical documents received for closure activities relating to underground petroleum storage tank regulations and the consistent application of the MRBCA guidance for petroleum storage tanks.
- Conduct closure site inspections at underground petroleum storage tanks performing closure activities.
- Use knowledge of contaminant transport, geology, engineering, soil science, and hydrogeology to review reports and workplans related to determining the rate and extent of contamination from petroleum releases and spills.
- Prepare documentation that is timely and accurate (reports, correspondence, data entry, and forms) and conduct follow-up work for timely compliance.
- Provide compliance and technical assistance to the regulated community and general public, in manners pertaining to closure and leaking petroleum storage tank requirements, release investigation and remedial activity compliance and enforcement.
- Perform other related work as assigned.

Equivalent to those typically gained by: - A bachelor’s degree and 0-4 year of relevant experience.
- Preferred degree program would include a combination of the following: Environmental Law, Environmental Policy, Environmental Science or Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, Geology, Forestry, Soil Science, Ecology, Wildlife Management, Agriculture, Animal Science, Natural Resource Management, Soil Conservation, or any scientific field. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
