Examples of DutiesIN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL: - Conduct research on COOP best practices, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) guidelines (particularly FEMA's Community Lifelines Concept), and relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with the Emergency Manager and department directors and their staff to identify critical functions and dependencies.
- Perform a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to determine the impact of disruptions on essential functions, resources, and recovery time objectives (RTOs).
- Assist in the development of a comprehensive COOP framework tailored to the Town's needs. Create detailed COOP documentation, including emergency contact lists, communication protocols, and incident response procedures.
- Collaborate with the Emergency Manager to develop and conduct COOP training sessions and tabletop exercises for Town employees.
- Work with the Finance Department Director to assess budgetary needs for COOP implementation and maintenance.
Typical QualificationREQUIREMENTS: - Graduate or advanced undergraduate student.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background-check.
- Ability to interview key personnel to understand their roles and responsibilities during emergencies.
- Ability to identify essential records, equipment, and supplies needed to sustain operations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare regular reports and presentations for the Emergency Manager and other stakeholders.
COMPENSATION: The hourly wage is $15.00 to $17.00. Starting salary depends on whether you are an advanced undergraduate or graduate student.

Seasonal employees are entitled to earn paid time off and accrue a minimum of 1 hour of earned general leave for every 30 hours worked and can accrue to a maximum of 40 hours per year.
