    ABOUT THE POSITION

    The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Airport Guest Service Administrator position. This position plans, implements, and administers a quality airport customer service information/education program at the Department of Aviation to ensure the delivery of personalized service to tenants, employees, and the traveling public. Further, this position plans, directs, and reviews the work of Airport Terminal Operations Coordinators and Airport Guest Services Representatives through subordinate supervisory staff, as well as plans and directs special events and coordinates a variety of special projects. In addition, this position is responsible for overseeing crowd control and queuing operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and orderly movement of passengers throughout the terminal.

    This classification is designated exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and is therefore, not eligible for overtime.

    This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility List to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Employee Services.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education and Experience:

    Bachelor's Degree in in a field related to the work and three (3) years of full-time supervisory or administrative experience in a high volume guest services or public facing environment such as hotel guest relations or airline/airport service operations. Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

    Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the “Education” and “Work Experience” sections of the application. Do not substitute a resume for your application or write "see attached resume" on your application.

    Working Conditions: Be available for emergency call-back on a 24-hour, 7-day basis.

    Licensing and Certification: Specified positions may require possession of a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of hire.

    Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.

    Residency Requirement: Permanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within the boundaries of Clark County and provide proof of compliance with Nevada motor vehicle registration and drivers' license laws within 90 days of employment.

    Citizenship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note, Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships or transfers for any employment positions.

    Background Check: Employment with the Department of Aviation is contingent upon completion of an education/experience background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI, and upon the ability to be granted a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration. Note: all prospective hires must present two original government issued ID's upon acceptance of job offer. Examples of acceptable ID's include a Passport, Driver's License or DMV issued ID, birth certificate, Social Security card, Voter Registration card, school issued ID with picture, etc.

    Customs and Border Protection Security Seal Program: Employment with the Department of Aviation in this job title is contingent upon a ten year employment and five year residency history record check and the ability to present original identity based documentation in order to meet the requirements for a Security Seal.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Must be capable of traveling to and from various locations outside the Airport in order to respond to various emergencies, attend meetings and make various presentations. Accommodation may be made for some of these physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation.

    EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

    • Plans, coordinates, monitors and directs staff that are responsible for overseeing the various shifts for the guest service staff, including Airport Terminal Operations Coordinators, Airport Guest Service Representatives and other guest service staff, including those in the Lost and Found area.
    • Reviews daily reports, provides technical assistance and follows-up on work to ensure effective and timely completion.
    • Recommends selection of staff; trains staff in work procedures; administers discipline as required.
    • Provides counseling and coaching to employees, establishes work standards and priorities; participates in providing training programs for employee development; schedules operations assuring adequate coverage on all shifts; resolves employee and guest complaints and problems.
    • Monitors passenger needs to respond to the increased volume of passenger traffic utilizing the airport facilities.
    • Acts as liaison between the Director of Aviation and airline and non-airline tenants, preserving and expanding these relationships.
    • Represents the DOA and Terminal Operations on a variety of issues pertaining to the overall guest flow of the airport and queuing operation.
    • Develops, coordinates and assists in the implementation of a variety of special projects and the development of special events.
    • Coordinates the scheduling and presentation of airport tours and educational presentations to groups of all ages.
    • Develops and supervises short and long-range public and educational plans to promote the Airport locally, nationally and internationally.
    • Represents the Department and the County in making presentations to various businesses, community and other groups to present information and answer questions.
    • Maintains accurate records and files; prepares a variety of statistical and narrative reports, informational materials, correspondence and other written materials.
    • Serves as a member of the airport's emergency response team; develops procedures and coordinates landside operations during emergencies.
    • Schedules and coordinates movie filming at airport properties; ensures that other agencies, airlines and tenants are notified.
    • Communicates with guests and team members in a friendly manner, answers questions, and provides accurate information; projects a positive image.
    • Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its guests by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
    • Uses standard office equipment in the work, including a computer; may drive a motor vehicle to attend meetings and reach various work sites.
