  • Job Description

    Role

    Under general supervision, performs enterprise-wide IT solutions including installation, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and problem resolution of departmental hardware, software, or related peripheral devices.

    Major Duties, Responsibilities

    • Prepares training materials and train customers in the use of new or modified systems.
    • Assists in the evaluation of equipment and software.
    • Participates in individual and multi-department projects while observing departmental project management standards.
    • Prepares various documentation.
    • Provides County-wide support for computing hardware and software in a diverse environment.
    • Assists with deployment and configuration of new technology equipment.
    • Responds to level II service requests, both remote and locally, ensuring a timely resolution of customer reported problems.
    • Assists live meeting setups with audio/visual equipment.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Experience:
    A minimum of three (3) years of experience in information technology or related field.

    Additional Requirements:
    Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.

    Other Skills

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge of:
    • Personal computer and network system application software packages and hardware peripherals.
    • Technology and practices as they relate to enterprise software and applications, enterprise desktop management and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).
    • Cloud technologies and multi-vendor software environments.
    • Technology-related principles, concepts, and terminology.
    • Business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition.
    • Clerical office practices and procedures.
    • Research techniques and report writing.
    • Current Microsoft Office software.
    • Filing and recordkeeping.

    Skill in:
    • Understanding and communicating information about complex systems to individuals with varying levels of expertise.
    • Preparing clear, concise, and accurate documentation, instructions, correspondence, and other written materials.
    • Organizing work, prioritizing assigned tasks, and meeting critical deadlines.
    • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing and communicating orally in a face-to-face setting and by telephone with public and employees.
    • Organization and adherence to detail.

    Ability to:
    • Prioritize work, meet deadlines, and make independent decisions.
    • Work independently with oversight.
    • Maintain expertise in relevant technologies.
    • Comprehend complex verbal and written instructions.
    • Provide exceptional customer service, demonstrating tact and diplomacy.
    • Protect confidential information and maintain discretion.
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public.
    • Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department.
    • Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.
    • Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion always.
    • Work professionally and effectively with co-workers, clients, and the general publicAct with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.

    Work Environment:

    The work environment is associated with an office. The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated.

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl under desks, and walk on uneven ground. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in person and telephonically. Standing and walking between work areas is frequently required. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Capable of occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds.
