Project Coordinator (MODDC)

MODDC is an organization dedicated to assisting individuals with developmental disabilities (DD) and their families. We receive funding from the federal government and collaborate closely with the office of the Missouri Governor. Our mission focuses on improving the lives of those with DD by reforming systems, providing grants, and advocating for their needs. We are currently in search of a Project Coordinator. This role will involve leading and overseeing initiatives that align with our five-year strategy, which includes developing new programs, establishing objectives, and ensuring effective implementation.

Responsibilities include:

• Help write and review grant proposals for new projects.
• Check on how well projects are doing and write reports about them.
• Keep track of data and results from our work.
• Lead work on big topics like building partnerships and making system changes.
• Write reports, memos, and presentations to share what we’re doing.
• Talk to groups about how to support people with DD and their families.
• Plan events like public meetings and listening sessions to hear from self-advocates and families.
• Share what you learn with state agencies and service providers to help make things better.
• Join state boards and groups to help make changes.
• Help MODDC committees with their work.

• You have worked with people with disabilities and respect their leadership.
• You know a little about disability history and the fight for disability rights.
• You believe in the values of the Developmental Disabilities Act, like:
• Listening to people with lived experience
• Including everyone
• Letting people make their own choices
• You’re good at solving problems, thinking things through, and making smart decisions quickly.
• You’re a strong communicator who can talk and write clearly and professionally.
• You’re a good leader who listens to different people and ideas and stays neutral (nonpartisan).
• You’re comfortable using technology to work alone or with a team online.
• You know how to use computers well, including:
• Microsoft 365 (like Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Online tools for managing projects
• Video meeting tools like Zoom or Teams
• You’re willing to learn how to communicate in ways that are accessible to everyone.
• You have at least 2 years of experience helping lead or manage projects (or something similar).
