    Why you’ll love this position:

The work of this position speaks directly to the mission of the Department of Health and Senior Services: to be the leader in promoting, protecting, and partnering for health. The Statewide PrEP Coordinator will develop and implement a program that partners with organizations and groups throughout the state to promote and increase access to a medication that is very effective at preventing transmission of HIV. This is an opportunity to play a role in the work to end the HIV epidemic by preventing new infections!

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

    • Coordinate the creation of HIV and PrEP health campaigns and other initiatives focusing on communities at increased risk for HIV
    • Collaborate with public and private clinicians to identify and arrange capacity building and technical assistance for providers interested in providing PrEP
    • Provide direct services to person seeking PrEP as an HIV prevention tool, including program enrollment, linkage to a PrEP provider, and patient assistance program navigation

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • A Bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience. Substitutions may be considered.
    • Knowledge of current trends and developments in public health, medical sciences, and health care
    • Ability to plan, implement, administer, and evaluate health education and health promotion programs for diverse populations
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to appropriately tailor messages to audiences with diverse backgrounds
