DescriptionThe City of Forney Police Department is searching for a person who will serve as the primary administrator for management systems, while supporting all other public safety applications.
Due to Criminal Justice Information Security (CJIS) requirements, the candidate must never have been convicted, put on court-ordered community supervision, or probation for any criminal offense above the grade of Class B misdemeanor or a Class B misdemeanor within the last ten years from the date of the court order. Class A misdemeanor conviction, deferred adjudication, or felony conviction are permanent disqualifiers. Examples of DutiesThe following duties

- Install and maintain current software suite (Tyler New World), operating systems, and application software, where applicable.
- Provide vendors with the requested information gathered from end-users or other IT resources.
- Monitor and document changes as instructed or recommended by the vendor. Identify and correct issues with applications, systems, and network devices/resources.
- Research, test, analyze, and repair connectivity and software issues.
- Troubleshoot and isolate hardware/software issues.
- Plan, implement, and maintain network data storage/retrieval system.
- Onboard and offboard users and user access from applications as they come and go.
- End-user training and support.
- Respond to IT issues (24/7) that prohibit the effective operations of public safety.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: No direct supervision exercised.
Minimum Qualifications- Valid driver's license
- Associate's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in information technology, networking, or a related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Valid driver's license
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in analyzing computer applications and maintaining complex applications with an emphasis on configuration, modification, implementation, and support for applications.
- Experience with public safety video systems and system administration, and maintaining a data-driven application, such as Tyler Technology or a similar system.
- Full grasp of NIBRs to include reporting needs and application configuration.
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MSDST).
- A+, Security+, and Network + certifications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT- Work is typically performed in an office setting
- Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time
- May be exposed to fumes and/or noxious odors, dust, dirt, grease, machinery, and contagious or infectious diseases.
- Requires mobility around public safety facilities and the ability to get to other locations as needed.

Basic group life insurance protection is provided to eligible full-time employees in the amount of two times the annual salary as recorded at the beginning of each year.

Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS)
All employees appointed to positions designated to work 1,000 hours or more per year must participate in the Texas Municipal Retirement System. TMRS is a qualified tax deferred retirement plan under Section 401 of the IRS. Seven percent of gross earnings are deducted each payroll as a pre-tax deduction and deposited into the member account. When an employee becomes vested and retires, the city provides 2-to-1 matching contributions.
