This position is with the Office of Administration Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction’s (OA-FMDC) Facilities Operations team, supporting the North Central Region. OA-FMDC is committed to strengthening the State’s investments while providing a safe and secure environment through innovative design solutions and excellent customer service.

- Prioritize excellent customer service for a wide and diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to internal teams, state agencies, state officials, contractors, and the public.
- Assist FMDC Operations team in the daily oversight, maintenance, and comprehensive HVACR operations of facilities in the North Central Region.
- Shadow and assist with installations, repairs, and maintenance, as well as preventative and corrective work orders.
- Observe and learn troubleshooting techniques for heating and cooling equipment.
- Provide support in performing system inspections, diagnosing issues, and recommending solutions.
- Help maintain inventory, workspaces, machinery, and equipment.
- Participate in hands-on technical work to expand your knowledge of HVACR systems and services best practices.
- Ability to communicate, collaborate, and lead with integrity in a manner that inspires trust and builds positive rapport with a diverse group of stakeholders and the public.
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program or in a technical or vocational college.
- General knowledge of construction and trade areas, safety practices, and methods.
- Ability to identify construction or maintenance issues and propose resolutions.
- The ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical manuals.
- Excellent attendance, work ethic, attention to detail, conflict management, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to properly lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from Missouri or from an adjacent state if you reside outside of Missouri.
Preferred Field(s) of Study - Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) Technology;
- Facilities Management and Operations;
- Construction; or
- Another related field.

If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
*This position is physically demanding. Examples of job duties may include prolonged periods of walking/standing/sitting/bending/driving, climbing ladders, ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, working in inclement weather and working on uneven or elevated surfaces. This list is not all inclusive, but a general representation of duties that may be encountered in this position, however other duties may be assigned contingent upon business needs. Please note, this position is considered a “Category 2” under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), meaning the incumbent will be compensated for overtime (hours actually worked over forty hours in a workweek) at the rate of time and one-half.
