Agency Budget Senior Analyst within the
Budget Unit located in
Cole County. Semi-monthly salary: The current rate for this position is
$2,816.96 . Individual(s) selected for this position may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential (e.g. shift, or time-of-service pay).
Job Location: This position is located at the
Howerton State Office Building; 615 Howerton Court, Jefferson City, MO.

The person in this position will work independently, assisting in the preparation and tracking of MHD’s budget, and will serve as a liaison to assist in implementation of innovative strategies around financial transactions.
- Assist in annual budget preparation.
- Participate in fund analysis of federal and state funds; assist with revenue projection analysis and forecast fund surpluses and shortfalls; prepare financial projections and assist with developing recommendations.
- Prepare expenditure analysis and projections for MHD. Analyze assigned budget and accounting reports and recommend budgetary and allocation adjustments as needed.
- Work with appropriate staff to prepare, review, and analyze fiscal notes for proposed legislation.
- Track legislation and appropriation bills for MHD and attend legislative hearings.
- Respond to requests from the Office of Administration, House, and Senate analysts, as needed.
- Coordinate special projects and tasks, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Preferred Qualifications:To be successful, the person in this position must possess strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. This individual should be a self-starter, detail oriented, and highly motivated with a desire to learn and lead a successful team. Experience working independently and in a team environment to achieve goals. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and knowledgeable in the areas of Medicaid and Medicare policy, MMIS, and the state budget process.
