    Job Location: This position will be located at 930 Wildwood Drive, Jefferson City, Missouri.

This is an entry-level position in the Onsite Wastewater Program in which you will learn to do this through the application of scientific principles and industry best practices.     The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

    • Assist with the overall administration of the Onsite Wastewater Program.
    • Assist in organizing classroom training for onsite wastewater professionals.
    • Maintain day-to-day operation and maintenance of the ArcGIS data management system of registered professionals, classroom trainings, permit applications, permits, and complaints.
    • Manage contracts and reimbursements for Local Public Health Agencies.
    • Provide training and technical guidance to industry, local public health agencies, and the public..
    • Assist Bureau staff in the field with onsite wastewater site visits, permitting, and complaint investigations as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Public Health, or other applicable field of study (substitutions for experience will be considered).
    • Understanding of principles that affect wastewater treatment and dispersal.
    • Previous experience with ArcGIS products or the ability to quickly learn how to use new data management software.
    • Ability to travel in and out of state, including occasional overnight stays on short notice. Valid driver's license required.
    • Moderate physical effort and mobility is required, i.e. driving vehicles, climbing stairs, negotiating outdoor terrain, walking/standing for hours at a time and frequent stooping/bending.
    • Analytical thinking and problem solving skills; ability to communciate clearly, appropriately, and effectively; attention to detail.
    • Previous experience in public health or onsite wastewater is helpful but is NOT required.
