This position will be located at Roaring River State Park, 12716 Farm Road 2239, Cassville MO 65625.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include holidays, weekends, and night shifts.
This is a temporary, seasonal position, not to exceed 1,000 hours total during the length of the employment.
Duration of Assignment: September to February- Empty trash containers and clean/sanitize restrooms and vault toilets.
- Perform routine grounds and building maintenance.
- Perform weed eating and mowing as needed throughout the park.
- Clean and sanitize shower houses in the campground and clean fire pits in the campground area.
- Maintain park trail system.
- Assist full time staff on maintenance projects.
- Assist full time staff with recycle program.
- Maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle and small equipment safely.
- Pressure wash the fish cleaning station
To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:- Mechanical : Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
- Interpersonal Skills: Treats others with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect. Considers and responds appropriately to the needs and feelings of different people in different situations.
- Listening : Receives, attends to, interprets, and responds to verbal messages and other cues such as body language in ways that are appropriate to listeners and situations.
- Self-Management : Sets well-defined and realistic personal goals; displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner; works with minimal supervision; is motivated to achieve; demonstrates responsible behavior.
- Physical Strength and Agility : Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time; ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work.
Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.- Ability to work a job with diverse duties.
- Ability to work outside in a park.
- Ability to gain maintenance knowledge.
- Ability to gain hands on knowledge of park management.
