Senior Cybersecurity Specialist

• The office for this position is located at the Harry S. Truman State Office Building, 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, MO. 65101.

This position will be responsible for supervising the Office of Cyber Security Infrastructure team. This position will be responsible for testing, managing and deploying various cyber security infrastructure tools both on-prem and in the cloud. Tools include but are not limited to firewalls, application firewalls, load balancers, intrusion prevention systems, SIEM tools, network spanning tools, network access controls, data loss prevention, asset discovery and more.

• The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the Office of Cybersecurity (OCS).

• Track projects of cyber security infrastructure team.
• Ensure that best practices are being followed.
• Providing security guidance to customers.
• Managing employee timesheets.
• Completing performance reviews.
• Performing proof of concepts on new security systems.
• Managing existing security systems including but not limited to firewalls, application firewalls, load balancers, intrusion prevention systems, SIEM tools, network spanning tools, network access control tools, data loss prevention tools and asset discovery tools across the enterprise network.
• This position will require after hours work for maintenance.
• This position will require travel to remote datacenter locations to perform hardware maintenance.

• Strong knowledge of NIST 800-53 security framework.
• Strong knowledge of multiple security appliances.
• Strong networking skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong supervisory and people skills.
• Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
