    Role

    The Development Services department is seeking a qualified Land Use Specialist I to join our team!

    We are looking for a candidate with outstanding communication skills and a keen attention to detail. The ideal applicant will possess experience in property site inspections, zoning ordinances, and a solid understanding of land use regulations.

    Major Duties, Responsibilities

    • Inspects property sites for conformance with zoning and related regulations.
    • Initiates appropriate enforcement action.
    • Calculates activities and submits written reports on results of investigations.
    • Assists the public in preparation of building and zoning permit applications and provides technical information pertaining to land use and zoning.
    • Writes and issues permits in accordance with the zoning ordinances.
    • Responds to natural disasters and completes damage assessments.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Experience:
    A minimum of one (1) year of experience in zoning activities or related field.

    Additional Requirements:

    Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.

    Must obtain Level I certification from the Code Enforcement League of Arizona within six (6) months of hire.

    Additional Requirements:

    Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.

    Must obtain Level II Zoning Certification from the Code Enforcement League of Arizona within six (6) months of hire.
