Position Description: Duties: - Assist the Lead Service Officer with Department of Veterans Affairs benefits and daily operations at the Pataskala office.
- Serve as the first point of contact for clients, handling check-ins, phone calls and walk-ins.
- Prepare VA documents and coordinate with external agencies to obtain records.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office; track supplies and mail.
- Provide referrals and public information to veterans and dependents.
- Support veterans’ functions and community outreach, including parades and special events (some evenings and weekends required).
- Upon completion of training must be eligible and able to become an Accredited County Veteran Service Officer through the Ohio Department of Veterans Services (ODVS) with cross-accreditation from all National Veterans Service Organizations as required by ODVS.

Job Prerequisites: Minimum Qualifications:- Must be a former member of the armed forces of the United States who served on active military duty and received an honorable discharge or honor separation, per Ohio Revised Code 5901.01.
- High school diploma or GED required; one to three years of related administrative experience preferred.
- Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license (driving is an essential function of this position).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and office equipment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, interviewing and interpersonal skills.
Compensation: Pay Rate: $30.21 per hour - Starting
