    VICE PRESIDENT FOR ADMINISTRATION AND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

    California State University, Los Angeles, invites applications for the above Administrator IV position.

    The Position : The Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer (VPA & CFO) is responsible for executive direction, guidance, and policy formation for financial and business management operations, human resources management, physical facilities, administrative technology and support services, planning and construction, risk management and environmental health and safety, internal audit and compliance, and public safety. The VPA & CFO also carries fiduciary responsibility for the Boards of the Cal State LA Foundation and the University Auxiliary Services, Inc. Through coordinative efforts with other key executives, administrators, and committees, serves as advisor on fiscal matters and is the University's Chief Financial Officer. This position also serves as the University's Emergency Operations Executive. Reporting to the President, and as a member of the President's Cabinet, the Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer will serve as a thought partner in setting both short-term and long-term finance and operational strategies to ensure the fiscal stabilization of the University. Coordinating with key executives, administrators, and committees, the incumbent engages in a wide range of functions, including developing financial models, managing budgets, administering the University's financial operations, safeguarding the University's assets, the integrity of the resources, and the utilization of these resources and leading talent and technology management.

    Required Qualifications & Experience : Master's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, public administration, business administration, or a related field. Experience with budget and financial systems implementation and application. Must possess advanced knowledge and understanding of budget and accounting methods, principles and practices of governmental fund and accounting, and higher education budgeting policies and procedures. Exceptional budgetary, financial management, planning, and analytical knowledge, skills, and abilities. Excellent oral and written skills, as well as advocacy skills and the ability to listen and understand the concerns of various groups while balancing the interests of the university community. Excellent strategic, presentation, and team management skills. The incumbent must have the ability to act decisively under stressful situations. Incumbent must demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

    California State University, Los Angeles, as part of the CSU system, is a State of California Employer. As such, the University requires all employees upon date of hire to reside in the State of California. As of January 1, 2022 the CSU Out-of-State Employment Policy prohibits the hiring of employees to perform CSU-related work outside the state of California.

    Desired Qualifications : Knowledge of California's educational systems, including the California State University. Master planning and capital budgeting experience and knowledge of real estate land use development. Knowledge of higher education's current issues and challenges. Knowledge of academic affairs, budgetary uniqueness, and needs is different from that of other divisions. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to manage the business affairs of a highly complex organization.

    Compensation : Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $23,750 - $26,667/monthly. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.

    Appointment : The Administrator IV appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.

    This position is a "designated position" in the California State University's Conflict of Interest Code. The successful candidate accepting this position is required to file Conflict of Interest forms subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission.
