    THE POSITION
    Come join the hardworking and fun staff at the Town of Prescott Valley. Ensure the safety of the citizens by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations as they are enjoying the pool and splash pad at Mountain Valley Splash.

    Examples of Duties

    In this position you will:
    • Actively guard and scan the pool area at all times; exhibit all standards of American Red Cross Lifeguard.
    • Communicate unsafe practices and safety hazards to swimmers. Maintain order and safety in the pool, splash pad, and adjoining areas.
    • Perform guarding duties and administer first aid.
    • Be proficient and knowledgeable of swimming practices in order to instruct all ages and abilities on how to swim.
    • Perform a variety of miscellaneous duties such as conducting classes, helping set up and tear down for activities, events, etc.
    • Report all accidents to the appropriate authority. Follow all policies for reporting.
    • Maintain daily cleanliness of facility, including all Health Codes and standards are met.


    Typical Qualification

    Requirements:
    • Must be able to pass the general life guarding requirement before being considered for employment.
    • Must possess a current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
    • Candidates may be required to pass a background check and must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
    • Must be at least 16 years of age .
    • This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug screening.

    **Interviews will be scheduled once applications have been accepted.**

    Compensation: This is a seasonal position that may work up to 6 months depending on the workload and performance.

    Hourly pay range is $15.75 to $16.54 per hour. Seasonal employees are entitled to earn paid time off and accrue a minimum of 1 hour of general leave for every 30 hours worked.
