  • Job Description

    The Role:
    The Senior Research Analyst compiles, coordinates and communicates research and data insights spanning tourism and convention trends and within the disciplines of Marketing, Sales, Public Relations and Las Vegas Convention Center operations. This position will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to create and provide data-driven insight for senior leadership to support the LVCVA’s strategic direction. The Senior Research Analyst differs from the Research Analyst due to the complexity of assigned work and greater level of autonomy.

    What You’ll Accomplish:

    • Turn Data Into Information And Insight :
      • Compile, proofread and distribute accurate research reports and analyses that track tourism and convention industry trends at the local, national and global level, while maintaining the security of proprietary data.
      • Craft analyses of data and KPIs spanning sales, marketing, public relations, and convention center operation efforts to support strategies and decisions of departmental leaders.
      • Manage numerous ad hoc requests for destination research and data from internal and external audiences and coordinate with vendors as appropriate.
      • Quality check and troubleshoot discrepancies in data or analyses.
    • Evaluate Processes:
      • Critically assess departmental processes and software for measuring and reporting business information to illuminate opportunities for enhancements.
      • Maintain knowledge of industry standards and the latest trends in consumer research, survey terminology and methodologies.
    • Lead Daily Projects:
      • Assist with leading the day-to-day projects of support staff from other departments and vendors for data deliverables.
      • Collaborate with the Database Marketing team and support them as needed.
      • Maintain positive working relationships with internal departments, hotel partners, destination stakeholders, government entities, industry associations and other audiences.


    What We’re Looking For:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Statistics or a related field preferred
    • Successful demonstration of professional experience in research and marketing analytics; additional experience in project management a plus
    • Possess strong knowledge of market research, surveys, methodology, data analysis, etc.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Demonstrated performance in collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
    • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet, presentation, and business intelligence software required, e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Tableau, etc.
    • Proficiency in software platforms including Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Content Management System (CMS), and email marketing software
    • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet timelines and objectives
    • Demonstrate commitment to valuing differences among individuals and being inclusive
    • Advanced ability to listen and communicate effectively with clients, vendors, management, and other Ambassadors in a variety of formats
