This position will be located at Rock Bridge Memorial State Park, 5901 MO Hwy 163, Columbia, MO 65203, and will work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- As part of the Division of State Parks’ Cultural Resource Management (CRM) Program, this position serves as curator of Missouri State Parks’ archaeological collections.
- Lead ongoing collections cataloging and associated Re:discovery Proficio database management, including supervision of up to two part-time cataloging assistants.
- Process loans, transfers, accessions and de-accessions of artifacts in the collections.
- Work in collaboration with program and park staff to ensure proper care and cataloging of archaeological materials in collections and exhibits.
- Assist researchers, consultants, and tribal representatives with access to collections and/or guidance with processing collections from field projects.
- Assist the Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks with NAGPRA compliance efforts.
- Manage the operations of the collections curatorial building at Rock Bridge Memorial State Park, including responsibility for building security/access, maintenance/cleaning, environmental controls, and supplies.
- Assist the CRM Program, as needed, with Division’s cultural resource trainings, conferences/ workshops, program initiatives, policy updates, and other program operations. Occasional travel to Missouri State Parks central office in Jefferson City may be required for program coordination.
- Occasional statewide travel required to work with collections at various Missouri State Parks.
- Attend meetings, trainings, conferences, and workshops, as needed.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
(Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
Preferred qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in archaeological collections management.
- Knowledge of archaeological methods and techniques, and experience with archaeological object identification, classification, and analysis.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Re:discovery Proficio, ArcGIS, and Adobe Photoshop.
- Knowledge of, and familiarity working with, the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) and the Missouri Unmarked Human Burial Statute (RSMo 194.400-194.410).
- Experience with osteological analysis desired.
