Certified Medical Assistant will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team that provides comprehensive medical care to pregnant women. The clinic provides a new access point for patients seeking care in the Millbrook area of Wake County. This position provides support for the physician, mid-level practitioner, and nurses.
Essential functions include: - Obtaining anthropometric measurements on pregnant women to include height, weight, and blood pressure
- Providing necessary client education on services to be provided
- Obtaining consents for labs and treatment
- Completing lab requisition forms for indicated visit and providing support for physician and mid-level practitioner
- Ordering needed clinic supplies

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - High school diploma or GED
- Six months of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
- CPR, CMA Certificate; successful completion of a medical assistant training program through an accredited school recognized by the United States Department Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or equivalent medical assistant certification through on the job training and preceptorship by a RN and successful completion of the certification exam.

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Spanish language skills (verbal and written) are highly preferred
How Will We Know You're 'The One'? - Ability to electronically document service provided on client electronic health records and billing encounter form
- Knowledge of referral sources both within Wake County Health and Human Services department and outside community partners
- Completion of annual CPR and OSHA training
- Ability to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals either verbally or in writing to ensure that they understand the information and the message
- Ability to listen and respond appropriately to others
- Ability to understand client programs, organization and culture
- Ability to follow instructions through a standard work process
- Ability to check work for accuracy before completion of tasks
- Knowledge of appropriate data collection policy and procedures, filing systems, data management systems, and programs
- Ability to compile, assimilate, organize, and store printed and electronic information
