Job Description

Job Location: This position is located at the Harry S Truman State Office Building, 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, Missouri.

Be part of the team protecting Missourians purchasing life, annuity and health insurance policies by ensuring policy compliance with law and regulations and evaluating their potential impact on consumers.

  • Analyze life and health policy form filing submissions to determine compliance with Missouri insurance laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with insurance company officials to ensure contracts and rates meet the requirements of law and identify any deficiencies that need to be resolved.
  • Evaluate rate filing submissions to determine insurance premiums charged to Missourians are not excessive, inadequate, or unfairly discriminatory.


What are the qualifications for the position?

  • Knowledge through a Bachelor’s degree or work experience with specialization in insurance, risk management, business or public administration or closely related areas.
  • Strong organizational skills, strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Completion or work towards PAHM, FAHM, FLMI or similar professional designations is desired.


Areas of qualifying experience:

Experience in an insurance regulatory agency which involved interpretation, application or enforcement of statutes and regulations. Experience in insurance sales, underwriting, policy contract review or development, claims adjusting, claims processing, risk management (preferably in life, annuity or health insurance) or closely related insurance experience.
