Summary Description

The Reno Municipal Court’s Specialty Court Case Manager provides participants engaged in Specialty Court program assistance with accessing community resources for housing, behavioral health, primary care, transportation, academic and vocational, self-help meetings, and other needs identified throughout their program. The goals participants are working towards are acquiring the necessary insight and tools to remain clean and sober, managing mental illness, becoming self-reliant including independent living, acquiring gainful employment, and successfully becoming responsible and productive members of their communities. Successful participants are able to live a lifestyle free of criminality and other self-defeating behaviors.

Under general supervision of the Court Program Manager, the Specialty Court Case Manager works on a multidisciplinary team including a judge, defense counsel and prosecutor, treatment providers, and the Alternative Sentencing Unit (ASU) of the Reno Municipal Court Marshals Division.

Full-time, Monday through Thursday (four 10-hour days)
$77,888.48 (plus benefits)

This is a grant-funded position for three years. Employment after this period of time will be conditional on available funding.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social work, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, social or behavioral sciences, or human development.

Experience

Two years of experience working in an agency that treats substance use and/or mental health disorders, or in a specialty court, or other agency with a primary responsibility of working with those populations receiving social services.
