Major Duties

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the Central Administrative Analyst/Assistant performs a variety of administrative, analytical, and technical administrative responsibilities in support of the department and Executive Director. The incumbent provides day-to-day administration for the Student Housing and Residential Life department; coordinates projects as assigned by the Director; manages schedules and appointments; serves as a liaison between customers and departmental staff
  • Represents the Executive Director and effectively responds to a broad range of complex and sensitive communications and referrals from various stakeholders such as students, parents, employees, faculty, alumni, campus partners, community, student affairs, university president, and the chancellor's office and others.
  • Organizes and coordinates special events, and quarterly division meetings to include reserving rooms and processing food services requests, developing and distributing event announcements, and updating and maintaining guest lists. Manage the scheduling of the Office conference room.
  • Independently manages complex calendars, coordinates meetings, and materials for meetings, anticipates and prevents scheduling conflicts, negotiates and manages the needs of individuals or groups requesting time with the director, independently committing their time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field.
  • Equivalent to two (2) years of full-time, technical, analytical, or administrative experience.
  • Additional experience in job-related field may be substituted for required education, on a year-for-year basis.
  • CA Driver License preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Working knowledge of general practices, programs, and/or administrative specialties.
  • Ability and specialized skills to: interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures; perform basic research and statistical analysis; analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistics; compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty; communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient in using standard office and financial software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)


Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
  • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
  • Classification: Administrative Analyst/Specialist / 1038 / 1
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $3694 - $5126 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $3694 - $7131 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday.
  • This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
  • The individual hired for this role will physically work on-campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position.
