Position: Assistant Professor of Accountancy
Effective Date: August 18, 2025 (Fall Semester)
Salary: Salary: The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary range is $71,100 - $151,128/per year. The anticipated hiring range is $133,000 to $137,000/per year. Salary offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications: - Ph.D in Accountancy from an AACSB (EQUIS) accredited institution. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2025.
- Demonstrated potential to teach in the area of Financial and Managerial Accounting
- Demonstrated potential to effectively develop curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including in the area of Financial and Managerial Accounting
- Demonstrated potential for research, scholarly, and creative activities leading to publication
- Demonstrated potential for service contributions to the department, college, university, and community
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including Black/African American, Latine/x, Native American/Indigenous, low-income, first-generation, and minoritized students
Preferred Qualifications: - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) with professional experience related to certification
- Effective teaching experience at College level face to face, hybrid and online mode of teaching
- Experience of successfully working with a diverse student body including students of color, students with disabilities, students who are first-generation college students, students who are veterans, students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, and students of diverse sexual orientations and gender expressions.
- Experience of successfully working with populations demographically and/or socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body
- Experience mentoring or supporting students with minoritized identities or experience using inclusive and culturally relevant teaching strategies in a diverse classroom
Duties: - Teach undergraduate Accounting courses, such as Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Advanced Accounting [ Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof. ]
- Engage in scholarly research and creative activities leading to presentation and publication
- Participate in service to the department, college, university, and community

The Department of Accountancy’s MS in Accountancy is oriented toward the CPA exam education requirements as per the California Board of Accountancy.
