$74,628 - $82,368 Annual Range

Under the supervision of a Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN)/SRN III, Correctional Facility (CF), the Psychiatric Inpatient Program (PIP) Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) provides basic and technical nursing care consistent with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations to patients at the PIP. The PIP LVN, CDCR, in collaboration with the Registered Nurses (RN), CF, the Mental Health staff, and the PIP care team, ensures the delivery of appropriate and timely health care to patients and coordinates interdisciplinary communication to promote continuity of care. The PIP LVN, CDCR provides technical patient care under valid authorization by a provider’s order and the delegation and clinical direction of the RN, CF, provides support to the PIP care team for daily PIP operations, and communicates effectively with patients, members of the PIP care team, and other members of the health care team. The PIP LVN, CDCR is responsible for addressing the ongoing needs of patients, working with the physicians and other health care providers, and promoting the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources.

Pursuant to the Public Health Orders (Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings and State and Local Correctional Facilities and Detention Centers Health Care Worker Vaccination Requirement) issued by the California Department of Public Health and the directive Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccines and Testing for Institution Staff issued by the Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CDCR), all staff assigned to this post/position may be required to show evidence of full vaccination and booster for COVID-19, absent an approved reasonable medical or religious accommodation precluding them from vaccination.
