MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Applied AI Engineer to join our team in Doral, FL . Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Designing, developing, and deploying scalable artificial intelligence and machine learning models to solve complex operational challenges. Orchestrating AI/ML pipelines, integrating data streams, and automating continuous training and evaluation workflows across mission networks. Collaborating with cross-functional technical teams, data architects, and stakeholders to define AI architecture standards and integration baselines. Conducting model evaluation, performance tuning, and optimization across cloud, on-premise, and edge computing environments. Maintaining technical baseline configurations and engineering documentation for AI systems and algorithmic models. Evaluating emerging AI frameworks, generative models, and tooling to recommend continuous process and system improvements. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field with 5 years of experience in advanced analytics or data science roles. OR a master’s degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience OR a PhD and 1 or more years of relevant experience OR an associate’s degree and 7 or more years of relevant experience OR a high school diploma and 9 or more years of relevant experience Proven experience developing and deploying machine learning models and AI applications using modern frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow). Strong background in software development, API integration, and programming languages such as Python and C++. Experience with cloud architectures, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and MLOps deployment pipelines. Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex technical documentation and AI system architectures. Preferred Qualifications: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialist, Azure AI Engineer Associate). Direct experience supporting U.S. Military Command operations or Department of Defense enterprise technical environments. Hands-on experience with natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or large language model (LLM) fine-tuning and integration. Familiarity with DevSecOps, data governance, and secure AI deployment protocols. Clearance Requirements: Must hold a current/active secret security clearance. Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%. Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
